Shadowroom: Stamped!, Stir Lounge: SMH!

EyeSPyZ: The Guest Blogging series continues..check out what my fellow blogger had to say about Shadowroom and Stir Lounge. Oh and if you haven't already check out his blog Sleep is the Cousin of Death.

Eyespyz was kind enough to let me do a post on their blog, so you guys could get a different opinion (well at least a male one) about some spots in DC.
**Disclaimer- I’m from the area but I don’t live there anymore (for now) so I was home for a little bit and decided to take the advice of Eyespyz and hit a couple of spots.**
First I’m going to get into the good then the not so good.
This past Thursday I hit up Shadow Room. I’d been hearing a lot of good things about it so my brother and I decided to check it out. Upon first look it looked like a bigger K Street Lounge. I liked the layout. I was pretty cool. Wale had a party that night there so I don’t really know how many people would be there on a regular night, but I would imagine maybe about the same amount of people. The DJ was pretty decent. He played a constant number of hits and he had good transition. All in all I had a good time at Shadow Room. I would recommend anyone who didn’t have to get up early Friday to go, because I definitely got wasted. Hell, even if you don’t have to get up early I still say go.
Now onto the not so good. Stir Lounge. I went there Sunday night. I think that Stir has a lot of potential but it was some things that threw me off about the spot. First off the DJ really wasn’t that great to me. I heard Wasted (Gucci Mane) three times. I shouldn’t be hearing the same song that many times. Secondly, I don’t like going out and everyone just stands there and looks at each other. Damn, you came out to have fun, so have fun. Party!!! Lastly, the go-go dancers (yes go-go dancers) were mad annoying. I thought go-go dancers were supposed to be visible to the crowd but not inaccessible. These chicks (in bikinis) were dancing on the dance floor. Now maybe if they looked better or had better bodies I wouldn’t have minded. That clearly wasn’t the case so I did.
Overall the majority of the spots that Eyespyz recommends to have a good time are places that you can actually have a good time. I respect their gangsta on the party scene.

How many have a thirst or desire to see Tyrese or Lebron James?? Just your luck kiddos, both smart, sexy, and RICH guys will be in DC Thursday night. So here's the rundown...

Alot of promotion has been goin on for the Shadowroom. The King Lebron James is hosting and I'm pretty sure this is one party you don't want to miss! Lebron is in town celebrating (hypin his release) of “More than a Game.” The film looks into how he went from highschool to NBA stardom. Ray, Omari, Taz, and Mitch have been promotin the sh*t out of this party and word on the street is that all major ballas have tables!!! My suggestion is this get their EARLY (no later than 10pm) and look UBER haute. Make sure you RSVP (full name and email addy) to shadowroom@daveandray.com. Now the Shadowroom isn't very big so if you're not in the mood to sweat your hair out this is not the place you want to be. Especially since Lebron will be there and you know he has FEMALE and MALE groupies! If you prefer to be able to move around and not get bumped into, then make your way to the Park. The Park is where you will find multi-talented (u know singer, songwriter, rapper, actor, former fashion model ..blah blah blah) Tyrese! MYLANTA that brotha has come along ways since that Coca-Cola commercial. Sense of humor, kindness, and intelligence are some things we all want in a mate. But yet we often don't want to admit that a nice PHYSICAL APPEARANCE is something we want as well. Personally I'm throwing all of that out of the window and going for LOOKS today cuz Devin Thomas of the Washington Redskins is hosting the Park THURSDAY night. He's definitely a GOOD LOOK! FINE is an understatement for this brotha!!! This makes up for the Park becoming 18 an up Sunday nights!! Hey kiddos...you can finally dry out your eyes and lay out your best outfit because I'm here to let you know tonight's hotspots...LET'S GO!

I'll Start with Current..the club has three bars (two alcohol and one sushi) and sneaks in a subtle aquatic theme thats decorated with a black and white wave pattern. Who doesn't love Sushi and alcohol. It's like two treats in one! Given the décor and the clientele, you’ll want to look your best..especially since the promoters are claiming that stylishly dressed ladies are entitled to complimentary admission all night. Just in case get on the guestlist@j-kproductions.com. I know we all hate standing in lines and RSVP'ing but it's FREE. No one wants to pay the cover at the door. Speaking of cover charges... if you don't get to the Shadowroom early you'll likely be standing outside the velvet ropes or unable to avoid dropping at least 20$! We all know Dave, Ray, and the Dreamteam men don't play at the door. So get on the list(shadowroom@daveandray.com) and make it by 11pm. If you're late and can't sweet talk these dapper looking guys into letting you in, I would make my way to the Park. I'm sure yall have heard me raving about the staff looking UBER HAUTE! So leave your tennis shoes, hats, and athletic wear in the closet and put something ZEXY on! Their happy hour and open bar from 5-6 gives you the perfect atmosphere to mix and mingle. Enjoy a drink or two =) and since most of us are working professionals and miss the open bars..I got you. You can always make late plans to get to Lotus from 10-11pm to take advantage of their open bar! After that time the cocktails run a tad on the expensive side, but are generally up to par with similar clubs in the area. Whatever you do tonight have FUN!

EyeSPyZ Stamp of Approval: Shadow Room Thursdays

I must admit I was thoroughly impressed with the amount of ZEXY looking men at the Shadowroom this past Thursday. I've never seen such a large concentration of HAUTE looking guys in one single spot. I don't know, maybe my radar was off but the minute we hit the door I was breakin my neck! *Oh.. shout out to the zexy mother effer in that grey European cut suit that let us skip the line.* OK..back to the details. The ambiance is nice and it definitely screams exclusivity. From attractive bartenders, bouncers, touch screen ordering system from tables, and sinks made out of rocks (with Victoria's Secret hand lotion) how can you go wrong? Well, I'll tell you. There is limited seating, a semi-spacious club area for standing and socializing, and only lounge-style seating for bottle service. Because of the architecture the Shadowroom gets crowded and it really should be designed a little bit bigger. However, there is a huge VIP area behind a white curtain that opened toward the end of the night which Raheem Devaughn was seen in. Along with the layout I was also disappointed with the DJ. The music was horrible because there was a huge inconsistency between a mix of genres. I give the Shadowroom on Thursday 3 out of 4 stars. I took away one star because it missed out on one key element that makes or breaks a party..THE MUSIC! Because I'm a professional clubber, I'll definitely give it another go around since the crowd was so eye pleasing!

The DYNAMIC DUO Dave & Ray are at it again. The Shawdow Room is a must on Thursday's ..it attracts a zexy crowd and has given these other spots some major competition. It really raised the bar with emphasis on being an exclusive spot. It reminds me of a dark filled cave..but a really attractive and zexy one! I'm renaming it the Zexy Room! Now if you don't look stunning enough to get into the Zexy Room *giggle* you can always engage in recreation at The Park. Lately, the only thing this place has been offering are cocktails in an attractive setting! Maybe it's Thursday nite's promoters..who knows but head to it if you're up for a bunch of socializing and fake-me out networking. Hmm...networking.. makes me think of the guys promoting K Street Lounge tonight. Not saying any names but they been trying to make a couple of spots pop off but haven't had that much of a turnout!
